Privacy Policy

CatchThatJob is a sole proprietorship operated by Alec Martineau, based in Quebec, Canada. You can reach us at alec@catchthatjob.com. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what we do with it. It applies to catchthatjob.com and to the texting service described below.
What we collect
From businesses that use our service. When a business signs up, we collect the contact and business details it gives us on the setup form — things like the business name, the owner's name and phone number, business hours, services offered, service area, and a Google review link. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not collect or store full payment card numbers.
From people who call those businesses. Our service exists for one moment: a call that nobody could answer. When someone calls a business that uses CatchThatJob and the call goes unanswered, we receive that caller's phone number so the business can text them back. If the caller replies, we also collect their text replies — for example, what the problem is, how urgent it is, and their ZIP code and street name — so the business can respond and book the visit.
How we use it
We use this information only to provide the service: sending the text-back after a missed call, running the conversation that follows, passing a summary of each request to the business owner, sending an optional Google review request after a job, and giving each business a weekly report with its own numbers. We do not use consumer phone numbers for anything else.
We never sell personal information. Consumer mobile numbers are used only to respond to the call that person placed and to continue that conversation. They are never used for third-party marketing, and they are never shared for anyone else's marketing.
We rely on a small number of service providers to run the service (for example, Stripe for payments and messaging providers to deliver text messages). They receive only what they need to do their part.
Text messaging program
The text messages are sent under the name of the business the consumer called. That business's texting service is operated by CatchThatJob.
- How you sign up (opt-in): You call a business that uses CatchThatJob and your call goes unanswered. The business then sends you a first text explaining that it missed your call and inviting you to reply. Replying continues the conversation.
- What the messages are: Replies about your request — a few short questions, a booking window, updates, and, after a completed job, one optional request for a Google review.
- Message frequency varies depending on your conversation. It is not a marketing program and there is no fixed schedule.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages. Reply HELP for help, or contact the business you called.
- Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
If you stop the messages, the business may still reach you the ordinary way about work you asked for — but the automated texts end.
How long we keep it
We keep information only for as long as it is needed to provide the service and to meet ordinary legal and accounting obligations. Conversation records belong to the business's account and are kept while the business uses the service.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct or delete it. Write to alec@catchthatjob.com and we will take care of it. Text STOP at any time to end the text messages themselves.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new "last updated" date.
