Terms of Service
Last updated: November 2026
These terms apply to businesses that subscribe to CatchThatJob, a sole proprietorship operated by Alec Martineau, based in Quebec, Canada. Contact: alec@catchthatjob.com.
The service
CatchThatJob is a missed-call text-back system for small plumbing and related trade businesses in the United States. When a customer calls your business and nobody answers, the system automatically sends that caller a text from your business. The caller answers a few short questions and can pick an arrival window. You receive one summary of each request, and after a job, the system can send the customer a Google review request. You also receive a weekly report with your real numbers.
CatchThatJob is software plus setup. It is not a human answering service, and it does not replace your crew or your phone habits — it covers the calls that would otherwise leave no trace.
Getting started
Setup starts with a short form (your hours, services, and service area). Before texts can go live, your business texting number must complete an industry registration step that we do not control. That registration typically takes 1 to 2 weeks. We start it as soon as you sign up and keep you posted. Your first month begins when the system is live on your number. "Live" means three things are done: your texting registration is approved, call forwarding is turned on for your line, and your own test call has gone through. Any time spent waiting on registration never counts against your month.
Price and billing
- US$97 per month, billed in advance through Stripe.
- Installation is free. There is no setup fee.
- There is no contract. You can cancel at any time with a simple text or email, and cancellation stops future billing.
- Our 14-day guarantee: if you cancel within 14 days of your system going live, we refund everything you have paid. If we are unable to get your system live at all, we refund everything you have paid, whenever that is decided. After your first 14 days of live service, payments already made are not refunded — cancelling stops the next billing, and your service stays on until the end of the month you have paid for.
- Plan limits. Each plan includes a set number of recovered-call conversations per month, shown in your weekly report. When the limit is reached, new conversations pause until you upgrade your plan or the monthly counter resets on your activation date; a conversation already under way is always completed. We alert you at 80% of your limit and again when it is reached, and we never charge overage fees.
- Prices may change over time. If your monthly price changes, we will tell you in writing at least 30 days before the new price applies to your billing. If you don't accept it, you can cancel before that date — cancelling stops future billing, as always.
No guaranteed results
We do not guarantee that the service will bring you calls, bookings, or jobs. How many calls a business misses varies, and that is outside our control. The weekly report exists so you can judge the value with your own numbers.
Responsibility and liability
We will provide the service with reasonable care. To the extent permitted by applicable law, CatchThatJob is not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits or lost jobs), and our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the fees you paid us for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
You remain responsible for your own business: your scheduling decisions, your work, and how you follow up with your customers.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change affects your price or the service in a meaningful way, we will notify you by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec, Canada.
